  Transplanted essentially across the street from its original location, this Walt's location is reliable, if not a little difficult to exit/enter from a busy street.
  
  It's fast food in name only. A typical trip to Walt's finds you waiting 6-7 minutes for your food (longer in the drive-thru), so ticket times aren't ideal for someone on the go. But to wait is to receive high quality food with decent service.
  
  The roast beef is freshly cut and rare, with a pinkish hue and incredible flavor. Pairs excellently with onion rings that come in orders with roughly 6 or 7 large rings. Crunchy on the outside, but somewhat mushy on the inside. Never the less they do have an excellent flavor.
  
  I have yet to have a bad experience at this location, but I'm surprised by the fact that they asked me if I'd be paying with cash or credit through the microphone was ordering at the drive thru. I've never been asked that before through a drive thru, but there must have been a reason.

  This was my first visit to this Walt's, since they moved out of Airport Plaza in early 2018 and into this building, which formerly housed Rocky Point Chowder House.  If fact, you can see the now-vacant old Walt's location (at the left end of the plaza) from the new dining room.
  
  Truth be told, I like the layout of the new Walt's better.  While the outside of the new building is a rather drab, monochromatic brick red, the inside was a bit more inviting.  There are only about a dozen tables, and they are not crammed together.  Oddly, the dining area only utilizes about half the space in front of the counter ("front of house," as they say in the restaurant biz).  There is an inordinate amount of space in front of the counter, where customers would place their orders and wait for their food.  It seems to me they could have fit more tables in the dining room without overcrowding it, but that's just me.
  
  Since I had come in a bit late for lunch, there was no one at the counter already, but a worker in back quickly noted my presence and alerted the cashier, who assembled my order on a tray at a speed that would have made Bruce Lee proud.  If only all fast-food workers could move so quickly - then this genre of dining would truly deserve the moniker.
  
  I ordered a Yukon as a medium combo, with fries and root beer.  While Walt's is not the best roast beef I've ever had, it's consistently decent, and satisfying, if a bit pricey for the portions you get.  I found both the dining area and men's bathroom to be clean.  Besides the price, my only other 'beef' with this visit was that they played music over the loudspeakers (country music, no less) a bit too loud.

  Good food, and made fresh.  Even fries take a couple minutes and aren't just sitting under a light.  A touch expensive, but the peoplecare friendly too, and the food us good so its nkt a big deal.  Work in the area and usually get there once a week.

  Sadly, this review barely deserves 3 stars, but I'll round it up from 2 and a half. I stopped recently for a late lunch. I'm familiar with the chain, having gone to some of the other locations before. The building that this restaurant is in used to house the Rocky Point chowder house some years ago, but has been recently remodeled. There was a Walt's across the street in the airport plaza that got pushed out for a buffet, probably necesitating the move.
  
  I ordered the hot and spicy roast beef sandwich combo with fries. I've always liked their fries, and they didn't dissapoint. Hot and crispy and not overly salted. The sandwich was a different story. I found it to be a bit dry and it could have used some more sauce. A little more meat too. It was $6.99 for just the sandwich. For the combo it was $11.50 after tax. Quite expensive for what you get. The service was just mediocre. To top it off, I saw a customer ask for a refill on his drink and was refused. Really? I don't think I'm in a big hurry to come back.

  I love this place. This location used to be across the street. I'm writing this short non-review to let people know they are now CLOSED on Sunday. Bummer. Now I gotta go to Cranston, I've had less luck there. Fingers crossed.
